Re: CrystalReportViewer - Print with preference Landscape prints in Portrait

Hi Don,

First I’m only working with the .Net Viewer – what happens before is not relevant here.

So my customer starts a report in our ERP-program, decides to make a preview and gets a form with your .Net Viewer.

The report has been designed in Portrait, so our customer sees the report-preview in Portrait. So far so good.

Now he decides to print out the report out of the viewer using the print button.

Here you wrote that the No-Printer-Flag comes into play:

  • Either the flag is checked on:

You stated “if the No Printer is checked on and printing from the viewer and changing the orientation in the dialog box it will not take your selected changes. That is by design, you told CR not to use a printer and does not require changes so it ignores any printer changes you may select in the either dialog box
  • Or the flag is not checked:

This case didn’t you explain to me. Here’s the misunderstanding. I made a test with this flag not checked and changing the orientation in the Viewer dialog box doesn’t work either.
    Why?

Also, you gave me no answer to this:

BTW: also for DEV: when clicking the print button in the viewer with printmode POC, it takes 2 seconds to open the dialog, with P2P only 1 second. Either tune up the loading of the dialog or show a WaitCursor....

  • Maybe an enhancement request

Another idea: if you say that “No Printer” checked on ignores printer changes (yellow sentence), why not disabling the printing “preference button” in the POC-dialog box if “No Printer” is checked? This would be more intuitive.

  • Maybe an enhancement request

Best regards,
