Re: Different approaches for PIRs in materials planning

Thank you R.Brahmankar for your answer.

However, i have to tell you that i did not understand it at all. You say that if Forecast requirements are not to be included in the planning, this should be obvious in MD04. It is. I do not want these requirements to be shown to MD04 (second case), therefore i have removed "Forecast requirements relevant to MRP" indicator, and in the second case (VSF) system works fine. This, comes in contrast with your latter statement that if i need this to happen, i should have the indicator set. I think not. If i have it set, then both VSF and ForReqs will be visible in MD04.

My question is this: in the case of ForReqs, i have 4 pieces in the requirement and 4 pieces on stock, therefore net is 0. Then, an order of 5 pieces is entered into the system. The logical reaction would be that system "takes" the 4 pieces of stock, consumes the 4 pieces of the requirement, creates a PR of 1 piece and consumes 1 piece of the next month's requirement. The system did consume the 4 pieces of the requirement, it did consumed 1 more piece of the next month's requirement, but it created a PR of 5 pieces instead of 1, leaving the 4 pieces of inventory untouched. And this is something i do not understand. I do not understand what causes it, since all material master settings with this scenario (ForReq) and the second one (VSF) are the same.

Best regards,

Nikos
