Ah, are you using a WEB Service as your data source?
Since those tools enable you to disable variuous bits ask them if they have the ability to log communications after you disable parts.
And What side effects they produce... It could be something else they configure broke communications to your DB.
Is the DB server local to your app server?
Only bits I found out so far is BOE has added SMTP and TLS for e-mail servers. Everything else we TCP/IP to do the communication and the CORBA layer for our SDK's to communicate.
So no idea why disabling TLS breaks crystal... We do't use it... in standalone CR Designer.
I'll keep asking around though.... and talking to DEV to see if they know of any reason,.
